A Brand New Fortnite Chapter (Ch7S1)
Chapter 7 Season 1 brings an entirely new map to Fortnite and a refreshing change! Titled “Pacific Break,” the map has a United States West Coast/Hollywood theme that even includes occasionally surfing (which is fun) into the game as opposed to being dropped from the traditional Fortnite Battle Bus.
Ranking to Unreal in Fortnite Battle Royale Ch7S1
Perhaps the biggest change in ranking to Unreal in Fortnite Ch7S1 is that all players started out at the same beginning rank which is Bronze 1. Traditionally, if a player was ranked Unreal for the previous season, they would be given a head start on the new season and start out about half way through Gold 2 which is about 7 levels higher than we had to start this season.
For comparison purposes it took me 72 games to reach Unreal this season as opposed to 52 games last season. Figuring that it takes about 2.5 games to progress through each level means that if I want to compare seasons apples to apples, then 7 levels at 2.5 games per level, means that I had to expend about 17.5 extra games to get to where Fortnite started me out last year. Therefore since it took me 72 games, if we subtract the 17.5 games that I didn’t have to play last season, we get 54.5 games. That’s a lot of calculating to come to the conclusion that it took me about the same number of games to hit Unreal this season in Fortnite Battle Royale as it did last season.
Ranking to Unreal in Fortnite Zero Build Ch7S1
I won’t bore you further with more math, but in Fortnite Ch7S1 I hit Unreal starting at Bronze 1 in just 52 games. That was lightning fast for me. For comparison purposes, last season I had the benefit head start of beginning at Gold 2 and it took me 66 games!
Tree & Bush Camping Returns
I love tree camping and trees are back baby! Last season was a cartoon style theme from The Simpsons. In my opinion neither the trees or the bushes were very good for camping. This season, Fortnite added back many traditional trees that are awesome for camping. My Plastic Patroller skin also blends in quite well with this season’s bushes making me a happy camper!
I Believe I Can Fly
This Fortnite season also introduced a new movement item; the Wingsuit. It allows players to fly quite quickly which has been extremely helpful to making it back to safety after my extended periods of storm camping. That’s where I find the Wingsuit most helpful. End game though I will use it sparingly for movement as highly skilled players are pretty good at shooting me down. Overall though, I give it an A+ as a must-have in my camping inventory.
Wrap Up
Chapter 7 Season 1 is still just getting started and has another couple of months to go. So far, camping has been great and I’m having fun. Look for my year end review of 2025 coming soon!
