Fortnite Ch6S4 Closing Thoughts

Fortnite Ch6S4 Highlights (What I liked most)

  • Megazord – This was one of the most fun team experiences yet. A portal would randomly spawn and the first player to reach it would enable the Megazord feature for their entire team. This was particularly fun because every player on the Fortnite squad was able to participate and shoot weapons from the mighty Megazord.
  • Wrecker Revolvers – Imagine an 8 round revolver that fires shotgun shells long distances and you have the Wrecker Revolver! This over powered (OP) weapon was toned down quickly but still delivers significant damage even at medium range distances. Here’s a fun clip that I made about the Wrecker.
  • Slurp Geysers – These are special geysers that are located in all the points of interest that had bug infestations. In addition to granting normal geyser abilities to rotate around the map quickly, slurp geysers granted 30 health or shield each time they blasted a player. I developed a unique storm camping strategy using Slurp Geysers that I shared in this clip.
  • Fortnitemares – Always fun! The playing maps are decorated with Halloween themes and of course pumpkin rocket launchers (I still have a 50/50 chance of hurting myself with these!).

Fortnite Ch6S4 Lowlights (What I liked least)

  • Bugs – Several POIs had bug infestations. The bugs were mostly annoying as they didn’t really deliver significant damage. Sorry for the pun but these areas just felt creepy to me.
  • Delulu – New game mode introduced during Ch6S4 that has proximity chat meaning you can hear all players within earshot. Delulu’s tagline is “Make friends. Break friends” which in my opinion is not a great social lesson. In the short time that I played Delulu, I encountered a lot of nasty behavior and vulgar language. Suffice it to say PopsPlaysToo is not a fan of Delulu. Here’s a short clip that depicts one of my Delulu experiences.
  • Map got stale – Although interior POIs changed throughout the various chapters, the entire perimeter of the map remained virtually unchanged since December of last year. That’s a long time. Even though I think this was a good map, I’m really looking forward to whatever changes the mini season and Chapter 7 will bring

Closing Thoughts on Ch6S4

Though Fortnite Ch6S4 was not my favorite season, it was solid. I ranked to Unreal in Battle Royale for my 9th consecutive season and did it in record time (5 days, 81 games). I also ranked to Unreal in Zero Builds this season making me Double Unreal for only my second time.

Tournaments were fun, I got to play FNCS qualifier for my second year in a row with BushCampDad. I also played Solo Cups and Duos Console Cups with GamerBryBruh, ForagerDad, and other members of the PopsPlaysToo community.

Lastly, I played a lot of viewer games which always put a smile on my face.

Looking forward to the Simpsons mini season which is up next! See you there!
