I’m brand new to streaming and closing in on hitting Unreal in Fortnite ranked Battle Royale with building. Although I’ve been playing Fortnite for several years, this is my first time seeing how high of a ranking I could achieve. Currently, I’m 96 percent of the way through Champion level which is just 4% from my goal of reaching the ultimate achievement of Unreal. Here is a link to my twitch stream.
What to expect
A lot of camping (that’s Fortnite speak for “hiding!”). At this level I’m playing against many of the very best Fortnite players that there are. My play style is to remain undetected for as long as possible and only if I have a clear opportunity to eliminate another player quickly do I take it. It’s not how I normally like to play but it’s how I’ve made it this far in ranked Fortnite play.
It’s been a grind
It’s not so easy to hide from the best players in the world! When they find me and eliminate me early I can lose several percent in the blink of an eye. The game starts with 100 players and typically I need to survive inside the top 10 to move up 1 percentage. If I can survive to the top 5 or lower, sometimes I go up 2%. It’s been a battle where I’ve had some setbacks where I’ve lost several percentage. You can read about my journey in ranking to Unreal in my blog.
